When I was kid, many years ago, my Dad played in a local band called Taylor Made. They played, as you can guess by the name, a lot of James Taylor. I don’t know if I have ever owned a James Taylor album, but I can sing all the hits word for word. (Side note: I almost died when J.T. said “Fuck Myspace” in the movie Funny People) They would do other stuff as well such as the Beatles, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, etc etc, but the one that got me was this cover of Paul Simon’s “American Tune.” I get introduced to songs all the time. Some of them take time to grow on me, some of them hit hard and fade away, some never get past toe tapping, and some hit me so hard they seem to change the world. At least thats the way it feels. Thats how American Tune made me feel the first time I heard it. Recently Mr. Simon performed the song on the Colbert Report and its been in my head ever since.

Thanks so much for sticking with me lately. I know I’ve been pretty quite. Going through a lot of changes lately. I needed to regroup and dream this thing up again. Will be sharing what’s going on, where I’ve been, and hopefully where I’m going. More soon.
